Objectives
The first professional rules for earth construction were accepted by the Commission Prévention Produits (C2P) of the Agence Qualité Construction in July 2022. This is an essential step in the development of earth construction and in securing jobs in the region.
The document is based on extensive feedback from experience on the island, consolidating a very broad field of application. It covers the construction of load-bearing walls up to R+3, the filling of concrete frames on R+5, wood or metal frames on R+1, as well as partitions. Developed in collaboration with local professionals, CRAterre was commissioned by ART. Terre Mayotte to supervise, coordinate and contribute its technical expertise to the production of the document.
Following the validation of these BTC professional rules, the ART.Terre Mayotte association wanted to maintain the active dynamic around the renewed local interest in the material. CRAterre was therefore commissioned to organise training, monitor experiments and advise brickworks.
