Objectives
Grdr operates in the prefecture of Boké, in the rural commune of Tanéné and the urban commune of Boké, as part of the Programme de Gestion Concertée des Ecosystèmes du Littoral (PGCL), a programme funded by AFD, the European Union, ENABEL and the Abbé Pierre Foundation. The Boké unit is in the process of diversifying its technical and financial partners and analysing the possibilities for a geographical extension of its area of intervention.
A housing improvement incentive fund (FIAH) has been set up on the basis of an iterative approach, anchored in an initial diagnosis aimed at understanding the problems of poor housing and governance, as well as construction know-how and the players involved in construction. The aim of this project is to improve the housing conditions of at least 50 families in one of Boké's neighbourhoods. 5 sector projects will also be co-defined and implemented. As well as a neighbourhood project (grouping together the five sectors of the neighbourhood where the 50 house renovations will be carried out.
CRAterre is supporting the GRDR in diagnosing the area, assessing needs and defining the strategies to be put in place. On-the-job training to meet needs.
CRAterre is also supporting GRDR in setting up a training centre in Canchungo. CREDA. A tool for measuring socio-economic and environmental impacts (IMPEEC) is also being developed as part of this project.
