Objectives
The project aims to improve the living environment of residents in two informal settlements in Ouagadougou and Bobo Dioulasso, by providing them with tools and methods for renovating individual housing, consolidating existing funding methods for community development, and improving the structure of residents' associations. In synergy with projects in Senegal and Guinea-Bissau, the aim is to create a sub-regional dynamic that will enable residents to be taken into account in housing improvement programmes.
Specific objectives:
- Consolidate and capitalise on the experience gained in the Boassa district and facilitate the replication of innovative responses in other districts to improve the housing and living environment of vulnerable populations.
- Promoting environmentally-friendly architecture that creates local jobs and prioritises short economic circuits through training and enhanced support.
- Support the structuring of a confederation of residents in the sub-region, facilitating the implementation of innovative practices for improving the living environment and access to alternative, citizen-based and solidarity-based financing for the right to decent and sustainable housing.
