Objectives

In La Côte-Saint-André, CRAterre led a two-day training course dedicated to raising awareness of rammed earth pathologies for the staff of the technical and urban planning departments of the Bièvre-Isère Community of Municipalities. The objective was to help local authorities to better understand the heritage value of rammed earth buildings, to identify the main causes of deterioration and to distinguish good practices from inappropriate interventions.

Combining theoretical input, field visits and a practical workshop on an existing wall, the training enabled participants to observe pathologies in situ, to discuss rehabilitation challenges and to practice common interventions (plaster repairs, erosion treatment, lime-based protective finishes).

A concrete initiative aimed at strengthening local skills and encouraging better preservation of earthen heritage.
