Objectives

This project involved the complete restructuring of the second largest High school in the Auvergne Rhône Alpes region: the Roanne Chervé agricultural High school.

The works involved:

  • demolition of more than 10,000 m² of buildings,
  • restructuring of 4,600 m² (SU), including the renovation of a castle with a strong heritage legacy
  • 6,200 m² of new construction.

In this project, CRAterre worked in conjunction with the project management team and the technical controller to build unstabilised rammed earth walls. CRAterre's services included design assistance, drafting the tender documents for the earthworks package, assistance in selecting the earthworks contractor and fine-tuning the works with the contractor and its earthworks design office.
