Objectives
Chad is experiencing a complex humanitarian crisis, marked by armed conflicts, food insecurity, health emergencies and climate-related disasters. Since 2018, the AICRL, in partnership with the CRT, has been carrying out projects focused on co-design, local capacity building and reducing the environmental impact.
AICRL mandated CRAterre to analyze the relevance and feasibility of its intervention strategy. The objectives are to limit the environmental impact of the shelter crisis, ensure better access to safe and adequate housing for refugees, returnees and host communities, and support local income generation through construction. The support focuses on analyzing the context (land, social cohesion, construction techniques and materials, sustainability, environmental impact) in order to propose a contextualized support strategy, accompanied by a decision support matrix.
