The Terre de Bâtisseuses exhibition will be on show at the Maison de l'architecture de l'Isère from 26 November 2024 to 25 January 2025. This exhibition presents a range of lives, nationalities, ages and practices linked to raw earth. These are the stories and interviews of women who think, create and build new ways of living on the Earth, in a sustainable, social and collective way. Their fresh take on the production of buildings is imbued with humanity, ecology and a new way of thinking about our society.
To mark the opening of the exhibition, a round-table discussion will be held on 26 November at 6pm on the theme of ‘Rethinking the act of building: Revaluing earth materials and the role of each individual’. This round-table discussion will explore the links between building with earth and the question of gender in construction. Bringing together different perspectives on the production of buildings will highlight new dynamics in the act of building, in a sustainable, social and collective way.
