As part of its long-standing collaboration with the Gambian authorities, which culminated in the inclusion of Kunta Kinteh Island on the World Heritage List in 2003, CRAterre was invited twice in 2015 to support the implementation of an Action Plan aimed at relaunching this \"tourism product\" that is Kuntah Kinteh Island and the nearby sites associated with it (the two villages of Albreda and Juffureh). The aim of this government campaign is to reveal new cultural and natural values to invite visitors to stay longer, and contribute more significantly to the local economy. The two activities defined in this action plan that CRAterre is dealing with more directly are: the installation of historical signage and the design of a tourist information center, due to be built in 2016.\u00a0The Gambia Tourism Board<\/em>\u00a0avec le soutien du National Council for Arts and Culture. Dix panneaux d\u2019information con\u00e7us par CRAterre ont \u00e9t\u00e9 install\u00e9s en ao\u00fbt 2015 sur plusieurs sites, dont l\u2019\u00eele Kunta Kinteh et le village d\u2019Albreda. Le centre, con\u00e7u sur la base des r\u00e9sultats d\u2019un atelier participatif impliquant les guides touristiques et les artisans locaux, repr\u00e9sente l\u2019architecture locale \u00e0 travers ses mat\u00e9riaux, ses techniques constructives et ses dispositions spatiales vernaculaires. Il couvrira un terrain de 450 m\u00b2 anciennement occup\u00e9 par un hangar industriel d\u00e9saffect\u00e9 qui d\u00e9naturait la place principale du village. Les mat\u00e9riaux utilis\u00e9s pour la construction seront en grande partie pr\u00e9lev\u00e9s dans le village, pierres pour les fondations et terre pour les adobes des murs et les enduits. La structure sera couverte avec les t\u00f4les r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9es de l\u2019entrep\u00f4t d\u00e9moli.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
